is queer as folk. it's an amazing show, although the writing has steadily gone downhill since the first season. if you have netflix, put season one on your list. watch it and get hooked; it's inevitable. so i missed sunday's episode (this is their LAST season, btw. i am so sad!) and caught it last night. i was thinking, hey, something fun and light to end the evening and drift off to sleep dreaming of brian kinney and justin. boy, was i mistaken. having seen nothing other than the unusually undescriptive directTV blurb, "Stop Prop. 14 gala at Babylon with special guest Cindy Lauper," i envisioned lots of flashing lights, scantily clad men, gyrating bodies, and captain lou albino (whoops, i can't think of cindy lauper without him). anyway, the episode was going great, and suddenly a bomb went off at babylon (the club they always go to) and it was horrible! i was so scared someone was going to die, because as i said, it is the last season. well, not to spoil it for you, but everyone lives, and it even brings brian and justin (the ultimate gay couple) and melanie and lindsay (the ultimate lesbian couple) back together. so i went to bed last night with warm fuzzies, although i couldn't forget the tragedy at the club.
i wish i was a gay man.

I had to respond-- "Queer as Folk" was my absolute favorite show. I even went to the meet and greet at Borders during the 2nd season. I agree that the 1st season was the best. I rented all of them via Netflix. I just saw that episode you are referencing from 2005-- I was so disappointed. I really wanted someone to die in the last 5 episodes. My money was on Justin or Ted. They never gave Ted anything to do after he was on meth. That was the highlight after Season One.
